EIAPP Certificates
Start May 2005 tightened rules apply regarding release of emission gasses. The regulations are gathered in IMO MARPOL 73/78 Annex 6.
The new regulations assure that from 1st January 2000 onwards all engines bigger than 130kW in all marine and offshore applications must live up to the new regulations. The documentation to prove the engine concerned live up to the emission rules is verified through an EIAPP Certificate (Engine International Air Pollution Prevention).
All our engines are approved for EIAPP certification and an EIAPP Certificate can be issued for all our marine engines. The EIAPP Certificates are available with both our new engines or can be bought subsequently as a spare part through our spare parts department.
Engines exempted from the regulations
Engines as part of an emergency genset or with an output of less than 130kW are not required to have an EIAPP certificate. Also engines that are registered in use before 1st January 2000 are exempted from these regulations.
