Auxiliary generating sets for all types of vessels

Many of the world's largest super tankers have NORDHAVN's reliable diesel generating sets to secure power supply: for emergency and back-up power, for main supply or as harbour generating set.


NORDHAVN generating sets are based on engines from SCANIA or SISU Diesel with outputs from 50 kW and up to 1200 kW, configured to operate as auxiliary engines, emergency generating sets or combined harbour/emergency set-up.

NORDHAVN has many years of experience from all kinds of marine installations and is often found on the Makers Lists of Danish and industrial ship owners, e.g. for new building projects at large Asian shipyards. In addition, NORDHAVN offers start-up and service support worldwide.

 
Auxiliary engine delivered by NORDHAVN
Full speed ahead between Jutland and Seeland – helped on the way by gensets with SCANIA engines.

Every day the high-speed ferries Mai Mols and Mie Mols sails passengers across the Great Belt. The two ferries sails from early morning till late night from Odden to Ebeltoft and Odden to Århus. Onboard both ferries there are SCANIA diesel engines in the machine room that operates as many hours as the ferries are in operation. The engines are installed in a diesel motor application in the shape of a genset which supplies power onboard Mai and Mie.

Diesel engins and by that the auxiliary application are delivered by NORDHAVN A/S. In each ship there are three SCANIA auxiliary engines of the type DS11 each at 277 HK each at 1500 o/min. NORDHAVN service technicians service the auxiliaries. The diesel engines were installed in the ferries in 1996 and have ever since made power on board the two ships.
